New free tool: Website AI Visibility Checker for UK SMEs
More people are finding businesses through AI answers, not just search results. Whether your website gets cited depends partly on how easy it is for AI engines to read. This free checker gives you a 0-100 score in under a minute.
The short version: check one page of your website. Paste a URL or the page's HTML source, get a 0-100 score across ten readability checks, no login.
Why AI visibility matters now
When someone asks Google "who are the best electricians in Bristol?" or asks ChatGPT to recommend an accountant, the answer is drawn from pages the AI can read and trust. This is different from a normal search result. The AI reads your page, decides what it means, and decides whether to cite it.
If your page has no clear title, no structured data, no FAQ, or thin content, the AI has little to work with. It will cite a competitor who made the basics easy instead.
What the checker looks at
Ten signals, each scored 0-2, scaled to 0-100:
- A meaningful page title and meta description
- Exactly one H1 heading
- Schema.org structured data, especially Article, FAQPage and LocalBusiness
- FAQ content, visible or in schema
- Mobile viewport configuration
- No noindex directive
- Content depth
- Descriptive internal links
- HTTPS and basic health signals
Every check is explained on the tool page, so you know why each one matters and what a fix looks like.
How to use it honestly
The tool runs entirely in your browser. Nothing is stored. If the free proxy cannot fetch your site, you can paste the page source instead and get the same checks.
It is a heuristic, not a full audit. It will not tell you about rankings, backlinks or competitors. But it will tell you, quickly and honestly, whether your page gives AI engines the basic structure they need to cite you.
If you want to go deeper, the Local SEO page describes what a fuller engagement covers. And if you are deciding whether automation is worth it at all, the ROI calculator and AI Readiness Scorecard cover that side of things.
Check one page of your website and see where the basics stand.
