Why it matters

The Map Pack is where the work is.

When someone in your town searches "emergency plumber near me" or "electrician BS1" at 9pm on a Tuesday, your business should be one of the three names they see. The Map Pack takes 44% of the clicks on local search results. The businesses in it get the call. The ones below it don't.

Google Search · Local 3-pack

Three businesses. Top of the page. Below them, everyone else fights for what's left.

76% of local mobile searches result in a phone call within 24 hours. If your business isn't one of the three in the Map Pack, the customers searching in your area right now are calling someone else. The fix isn't complicated. It's just boring, and it doesn't fit on a Saturday between jobs.

The £149 audit tells you exactly which of the six things you need to fix, in what order, and how much each one matters. No 60-page report, no strategy call, no upsell. One page, plain English, delivered in 5 working days.

What's in the report

Six things. Ranked by impact.

Every audit checks the same six things. Every report has the same structure. You know what you're getting before you book.

01

Google Business Profile score.

Out of 100. Based on whether your profile is claimed, verified, complete, has photos, has hours, has services listed, has Q&A seeded, and has a description. Most trades businesses score 40-60. Top 3 in the Map Pack usually score 80+.

02

Map Pack position, by keyword.

We track 3-5 keywords your customers actually type ("emergency plumber Bristol", "boiler repair BS1"). We tell you whether you're in the Pack, where, and who's in front of you. Screenshot included.

03

Review count, velocity, response rate.

Total reviews, new this quarter, average rating, how many of yours the business owner responded to. Counter-intuitive fact: review velocity matters more than total count. Steady drip wins.

04

Citation health.

You give us a list of citations you care about (your website, Yell, Checkatrade, anywhere else you're listed). We check each for Name/Address/Phone consistency. One mismatch is enough to confuse Google.

05

Website local signals.

Is your NAP in the footer? Is there a LocalBusiness schema markup? Is there a sitemap? Is there a Google Maps embed on the contact page? These are the things that signal "we're a real local business" to Google.

06

Competitor comparison.

The 3 businesses currently in the Map Pack for your main keyword. Their GBP scores, their review counts, their photo counts, their citation counts. Honest context for where you stand.

What if your profile isn't set up yet?

No GBP, or never claimed, or unverified? We handle it.

Most trades businesses fall into one of three camps: never created a Google Business Profile, created one but never claimed it (Google auto-generates listings for many businesses), or claimed it but never verified (so edits don't go live). The audit covers all three. Included in the £149.

No profile yet

We create it.

You give us your business name, address, phone, hours, services, and a few photos. We create the profile, fill in every field Google cares about, post the photos, and seed the Q&A. Verification arrives by postcard, phone, or email depending on what Google chooses.

Unclaimed

We claim it.

Google auto-creates GBP listings for most businesses based on public data. Most trades business owners don't realise they have one. We claim it, take over ownership, and clean up whatever's been auto-populated (often wrong hours, no services, no photos).

Claimed but broken

We fix it.

Missing hours. Old address. No services listed. Three photos from 2021. Profile description says nothing. We've seen all of it. The audit includes the cleanup: hours, services, photos, description, attributes, categories. Done as part of the report, not as a separate job.

What the report looks like

One page. Plain English. Yours to keep.

PDF, 1 page, scored checklist at the top, prioritised fix list at the bottom. No fluff, no agency-speak, no "synergise your omnichannel presence." Just what to fix, in what order.

TOP 3 QUICK WINS
1. Add 8 photos of recent jobs to GBP. Top 3 in the Map Pack have 40+. You have 6.
2. Update hours to "Open 24 hours" on GBP (your website already says this). You lose out-of-hours searches.
3. Your Yell listing has your old BS3 address. Update to BS2. One mismatch costs Pack position.

What you actually get.

A score for each of the six checks, with the GBP score and Map Pack position at the top because those are the two that matter most. The top 3 quick wins below, ranked by impact, specific to your business (not generic SEO advice). Citation drift table if any of your listings are inconsistent. Competitor comparison so you know what you're up against.

The 1-page constraint is deliberate. If the report needs 10 pages, you won't read it. If it fits on one, you will. Actionable beats comprehensive.

Yours to keep. No contract, no upsell to a "managed service", no "strategy call" required. Use the report yourself, hand it to a web agency, or never act on it. Your £149 either tells you something useful or it doesn't, and the report stands on its own either way.

How it works

Five days. Three emails. One report.

01

You book and tell us your details.

Business name, town, your website, the 3-5 keywords your customers actually type, the citation URLs you care about, where to send the report. One form, 5 minutes.

02

We run the audit.

We check your Google Business Profile, your Map Pack position for each keyword, your known citations, your website's local signals, and the top 3 competitors in the Pack for your main keyword. Automated, takes 4-6 hours spread across days 1-4.

03

The report lands in your inbox.

Day 5. PDF, 1 page. Scored checklist at the top, prioritised fix list at the bottom. Plus the raw screenshots and data we used, in case you want to verify anything yourself.

04

You act on it (or don't).

The top 3 quick wins are usually 2-3 hours of work. Hand them to your web agency, do them yourself on a Saturday, hire someone on Fiverr. The report tells you what to do, not what we do next.

The honest bit

Who this is for. Who it isn't.

For you if:

You run a local UK trades business (plumber, electrician, roofer, gas engineer, locksmith, etc) within a 20-mile radius. You know the Map Pack matters but you don't know exactly where you stand or what to fix first. You want a clear, honest read on your local SEO without signing a retainer or learning another tool. Also for you if you have no Google Business Profile yet, or never claimed or verified the one Google made for you, because we set that up as part of the audit.

£149. 5 working days. A clear-eyed read on where you stand.

One form, 5 minutes. We do the rest. The report tells you exactly which of the six things to fix, in what order, and how much each one matters. Yours to keep, act on, or hand to a web agency.
