Ten questions about how your business works

Answer honestly. There are no right answers, and the score is for your planning, not for us to judge. Each question is scored 0, 1 or 2, giving a maximum of 20 points, scaled to a 0-100 readiness score.

How the score works

Each of the ten questions is scored 0, 1 or 2, so the maximum is 20 points. The total is multiplied by five to give a 0-100 score.

  • 0-33: Early stage. The foundations for automation are mostly missing. The best first step is usually to fix data and process basics, then automate one small, repetitive task.
  • 34-66: Getting there. Some foundations exist. Good candidates for a first pilot include enquiry handling, CRM updates, document chasing and routine reporting.
  • 67-100: Ready. Your data, processes and team are in decent shape. A structured automation programme can target several processes with measurable results.

The score is an opinion based on your answers, not a formal audit. It is a starting point for a conversation, not a verdict on your business.

Frequently asked questions

Is the AI readiness scorecard free?
Yes. You can complete it without creating an account or providing contact details.
What does a high AI readiness score mean?
It means your data, processes, tools and team are in reasonable shape for automation projects. It does not guarantee that any specific automation will succeed, but it suggests the foundations are there.
What does a low AI readiness score mean?
It means the basics need attention first, such as consistent record keeping, documented processes and usable data. Starting with a small, well-defined automation can still work while those foundations improve.
Can Expedient AI help after I take the scorecard?
Yes. Expedient AI helps UK SMEs identify practical automation opportunities and build workflows around their existing processes and tools. Book a chat to discuss your result.
